BodyTite & FaceTite
Until recently, it’s been quite challenging to effectively tighten the face and body without undergoing a significant surgical procedure. But with the development of both BodyTite and FaceTite, people considering a skin tightening procedure or even liposuction in Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, Holmdel, and other boroughs have an exciting option, thanks to board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Louis Cutolo.
What is BodyTite?
BodyTite is a gentler, less invasive form of liposuction that uses radiofrequency energy to loosen and soften fat before it is removed from the body. This makes the overall experience less traumatic on skin, muscle, and other surrounding tissues. In addition to using controlled heating technology to target unwanted fat, BodyTite stimulates collagen development in the surrounding skin. This combined approach both removes fat and tightens skin in the treated areas for enhanced results.
Depending on the significance of your procedure, Dr. Cutolo may perform BodyTite while you are under local anesthesia with sedation. Like traditional liposuction, BodyTite can be used to treat unwanted fat in areas such as:
- Back
- Arms
- Abdomen
- Thighs
What is FaceTite?
FaceTite uses the same radiofrequency technology as BodyTite but is modified to improve the lower face and jawline by tightening skin and adding definition. The FaceTite handpiece has a small, thin cannula as well as an external radiofrequency transmitter. These 2 tools work together to deliver radiofrequency energy both above and beneath the skin. Think of FaceTite as your “detailer” when it comes to enhancing your facial contours. Because it’s more superficial than BodyTite, FaceTite can effectively improve the tone of your face with minimal downtime.
Are You a Candidate for BodyTite or FaceTite?
BodyTite and FaceTite are both exceptional options for less invasive skin tightening and fat reduction, but they aren’t for everyone. More involved intervention, such as facelift or tummy tuck, may be indicated depending on the severity of your condition. Significant sagging skin may require surgical excision, and large volumes of fat may respond better to lifestyle adjustments or traditional liposuction.
If you are bothered by cellulite on your thighs and buttocks, we offer Avéli, an FDA-cleared, minimally invasive treatment. During your consultation, Dr. Cutolo evaluates your areas of concern and helps you choose a solution.
How Are BodyTite and FaceTite Performed?
Both BodyTite and FaceTite are performed while you are under local anesthesia, with or without sedation. While your treatment area will be completely numb, you won’t experience the grogginess or other side effects associated with general anesthesia.
Dr. Cutolo begins your procedure by making a small incision at your treatment site. He inserts the cannula portion of the handpiece just beneath your skin. The handpiece emits radiofrequency energy to fat and tissue in the area. At the same time, the external transmitter glides across your skin, also emitting radiofrequency energy. During a BodyTite procedure, the cannula sucks fat away. During FaceTite, there is no aspiration—only controlled heating, which leads to tighter, smoother skin. Your appointment may last between 30 minutes and 1 hour.
BodyTite/FaceTite Recovery & Results
Most BodyTite and FaceTite patients take the remainder of the day away from work and other obligations, choosing instead to rest at home. Most people feel comfortable getting back to light activity the following day.
Some swelling is common after both BodyTite and FaceTite. As the swelling gradually dissipates throughout the healing process, you can better appreciate your results. The ultimate outcome can take several months to fully develop as the skin contracts and tightens. In the long term, your results can last indefinitely if you maintain a steady weight and healthy lifestyle.
