Eyelid Surgery Before & After Case 217

This is a 48 year old female who disliked her lower eyes.  She thought that they made her look tired and did not coincide with her youthful demeanor.  She wanted to reduce the puffiness as well as  the fine wrinkles that were present - those detracted from her otherwise youthful appearance.  

During the consultation, it was decided that the best way to obtain her goal was to perform a lower eyelid blepharoplasty and also perform carbon dioxide laser resurfacing of the skin.  The lower eyelid blepharoplasty would remove the excess fat in her lower eyelid and would then reduce the puffiness.  The carbon dioxide laser resurfacing would then tighten the skin and reduce the fine wrinkling.  

The blepharoplasty was performed "transconjunctivally: - which means that there was no scar on the outside of the eyelid - the incision was hidden on the inside.  The procdedure ( both blepharoplasty and laser) was performed under local anesthesia in the office with minimal oral sedation (Valium).  

The patient healed well and quickly and was back to her usual activities in approximately one week.

She is seen in the post-op photos 1 month after the procedure.  

She loves her new, youthful look and now says that no one ever tells her that she looks tired!
