Breast Lift Before & After Case 158

This is a 61 year old female who had saline implants for many years.  She decided that she no longer wanted the extra weight that the implants added to her chests.  She was concerned that if she removed the implants she would not like the shape of her breasts.  During the consultation, it was decided that in order to obtain the best shape and to remove the weight it would be necessary to deflate the implants and then assess the potential need for a breast lift.  The implants were deflated in the office under local anesthesia and it became obvious that the breasts appeared deflated and the nipples were now located well below the inframammary folds.  This indicates that a breast lift (mastopexy) would be beneficial.

After allowing a few weeks to pass to allow the skin to shrink, a breast lift was performed and the deflated implants were removed...all in one operation. 

Her recovery was quick and she was back to her usual activities in less than one week.  She is seen here two months after the lift.  She is relieved that she no longer carries the extra weight from the implants and is thrilled that she has a more youthful appearance.
