Breast Augmentation Before & After Case 241

This is a 42 year old female who previously underwent a breast augmentation with saline implants.  Subsequently she suffered a right side deflation and now wanted to replace the implants with the newer "gummy bear" silicone implants.  She came to the office for evaluation and to discuss her options for breast augmentation.

It was decided that the best course would be to deflate both implants completely and this could be done easily in the office with local anesthesia.   This would allow the breasts to shrink and behave as if she did not have implants.  By removing the weight of the saline, the breast skin could recoil and would appear as if she did not have implants present.  The breasts were then evaluated, 3D imaging was performed,  and it was decided to remove the saline implants and replace them with 505cc moderate profile implants by Sientra.  Since we were using slightly larger implants than were there previously, the scar had to be removed as well in order to allow the pocket to accept the larger implants. 

She is seen in the pre op photos with the saline implants present but deflated.  The post op photos are 6 months after the procedure.  She healed quickly and loves the newer implants that feel more natural than the saline ones that were replaced.
