Tummy Tuck Before & After Case 104

This is a 53 year old female who disliked the shape of her abdomen. She said that she was unable to change the shape of her abdomen with diet and exercise and sought the advice of Dr. Cutolo.  Pregnancies along with weight gain and weight loss have stretched her abdominal muscles and skin to the point that they would not return to their original shape.  The only way to obtain a flat abdomen would be to undergo a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty)!

After a thorough consultation she decided to proceed.  The procedure involves removing all of the excess skin below the belly button and to tighten the underlying muscle layer from her chest to her pubic bone. 

She underwent the procedure without any difficulties and was back to her usual activities in approximately ten days.

She is seen in these post op photos six weeks after the procedure.  The scars will continue to improve over time as they mature.
