Fractora

In our Staten Island office, we are pleased to offer Fractora, a unique type of radiofrequency-based treatment that gently heats the superficial and deeper layers of skin to stimulate collagen development and to gently smooth away textural irregularities. The Fractora treatment can be customized based on your distinct needs, and your provider at Dr. Cutolo's office can adjust the settings for more or less significant results.

About Fractora

Fractora is exceptionally versatile. It's especially appropriate for treating laxity, fine lines, diminished tone, hyperpigmentation, certain types of vascular lesions, and irregular texture on the following areas of the face:

  • Eyelids (lower and upper)
  • Around the mouth
  • Cheeks
  • Neck

Because Fractora uses several different technologies in a single procedure, multiple conditions can be treated at once, simplifying the process of skin rejuvenation for many patients. However, depending on your needs, other forms of skin resurfacing may be better options for you. You'll discuss all of your choices during your consultation.

Your Fractora Experience

Fractora is administered here in our office as a straightforward outpatient procedure. The Fractora handpiece is fitted with a number of extremely small, fine needles. These needles penetrate the outermost layers of skin while emitting pulses of radiofrequency energy. The energy targets your skin's deeper layers, improving it where it matters most.

The depth that the needles reach is 3 mm. Keep in mind that these needles are very thin, and radiofrequency energy is gentle. However, our providers use a topical anesthetic to maximize your comfort during the procedure.

Although there is no required downtime after your Staten Island skin resurfacing, mild redness and inflammation may persist for a few days after the treatment. You can cover your skin with makeup a couple of days after your visit.

Your initial results are likely to develop within a few weeks of your first procedure. In our practice, we typically recommend a series of 1-3 treatments, spaced about 1 month apart, to achieve the best results possible.
