Eyelid Surgery Before & After Case 151

This 64-year-old woman disliked the quality of her skin and thought that she appeared older than she actually felt.  She also disliked the excess skin in her upper eyelids and thought that she it made her appeare tired.  After a detailed discussion detailing her options, it was decided that she would undergo fat transfer and an upper blepharoplasty with brow elevation at the same time. 

As we age, we lose volume in our midface - a youthful appearance is associated with fullness.  Fat transfer is designed to replenish the volume in her midface and the fat is also placed in her laugh lines and marionette lines as well.  Another benefit of fat transfer is that stem cells are transferred as well.  These stem cells will help to improve the overall quality of the skin - reducing the appearance of sundamage and improve collagen and elasticity.  The fat that is transferred will also last significantly longer than any other fillers that are commercially available (Juvederm, Radiesse, Voluma, etc.).

She underwent the fat transfer and upper blepharoplasty at the same time.  The upper blepharoplasty also included the placement of a dissolvable clip "endotine" in order to elevate the outer part of her brow. 

She is seen in these photos 8 months after the procedure and is thrilled with the results.  She regained volume in her cheeks and her nasolabial folds and marionette lines are significantly softer.  The overall quality of her skin has been improved as well from the fat transfer. 

Her brows are elevated and much of the excess skin from her upper eyelids has been removed giving her a much more alert appearance.  Also performed at a later date was CO2 laser resurfacing procedure in the areas around her mouth.
