Breast Augmentation with Breast Lift

This is a 23 year old female who wanted to improve the shape of her breasts.  She disliked the asymmetry and wanted to improve her overall volume. She wanted to be able to fill her clothes with better proportions.  The patient had lost a significant amount of weight in the past and this contributed to the symmetry issues. The discussion in the office was lengthy but covered all of her options.

During the consultation it was decided that the best way to obtain the most optimal result was to stage the procedures.  The breast lift would be performed first under local anesthesia in the office followed by a breast augmentation approximately 1 month later. This would remove as many of the variables as possible and would allow us to obtain closer symmetry with the breast lift performed first.  Then different implants at the time of the augmentation can be used to further get maximal symmetry.  Doing the procedure in two stages allows us to reduce the potential complications.  

She agreed and we proceeded with the breast lift (mastopexy) first.  This was done in the office under local anesthesia and recovery was quick.  The breast augmentation was done approximately one month later - allowing the wounds to heal completely.  After the skin had been removed during the lift, a more exact determination of the size of the implants can be made.  

In order to obtain better symmetry two different size implants were used.  On the right side, 435cc moderate profile Sientra silicone implants were used and on the left side 485cc moderate profile Sientra silicone implants were placed. 

She healed well and was back to her usual activities in about one week.  She is seen in the post op photos approximately 6 weeks after the augmentation.
