VECTRA® 3-D Imaging
Planning a cosmetic plastic surgery procedure at our Staten Island practice has never been so exciting, thanks to our VECTRA 3-D imaging system. The concept behind VECTRA is simple. Using a special camera, we capture your image and create a 3-D rendering. Then you and Dr. Louis Cutolo can experiment with various surgical options to help you visualize your results and work toward the same goal. We offer VECTRA as part of the consultation for facial plastic surgery.
What Can You Expect?
- During your consultation, Dr. Cutolo or another member of our staff takes several pictures of your face from different angles using VECTRA's special camera. We then upload your images to the computer.
- With the state-of-the-art VECTRA software, Dr. Cutolo manipulates the 3-D images and demonstrates the effect various surgical options would have. For instance, if you're considering a facelift, you can see how you may look with different surgical techniques, such as the addition of a neck lift. VECTRA lets you fully explore the possibilities before Dr. Cutolo makes a single incision.
- Once you've agreed upon an outcome, Dr. Cutolo uses the final image created by VECTRA as a guide when planning his surgical technique.
Will my results look exactly as predicted?
VECTRA uses advanced technology to help you and Dr. Cutolo plan your surgery, and the simulated images tend to look very close to the eventual results. During your consultation, Dr. Cutolo will help you understand the possible variations in your results to ensure you're well informed before surgery.
What procedures can I use VECTRA for?
We use VECTRA exclusively for face procedures:
- Brow lift
- Eyelid surgery
- Ear surgery
- Fat transfer
For breast augmentation patients, Dr. Cutolo uses the Crisalix 3-D imaging system.
Who has access to the images?
Your images are uploaded to our office's own VECTRA software and not stored online. Just as your conventional before-and-after photos will be kept confidential, your VECTRA images will also be securely stored in your file. Only Dr. Cutolo and his staff have access to your images, and they will not be shared with anyone outside of our practice without your express permission.
