Will a facelift correct my droopy eyes, crow's feet or wrinkled brow?

A facelift addresses cosmetic concerns related to aging in the middle and lower portions of the face. For correcting the upper third of the face, you may want to consider a brow lift or eyelid surgery, sometimes referred to as an "eyelid lift."

What is the ideal age for a facelift?

No 2 people age alike. That is why age is not the primary determinant for a facelift. As an example, someone who smokes or has had a lot of exposure to the sun may be a good candidate for a face lift in her early 40s while someone who has taken good care of her skin and health may not need a face lift until her late 50s.

What is a "non-surgical face lift"?

A face lift is a surgical procedure performed to create a more rested, youthful appearance with greater efficacy and longer-lasting results. Non-surgical means of facial rejuvenation, which some may refer to as a "non-surgical face lift" or "liquid face lift," involve muscle relaxants such as BOTOX® Cosmetic. Our Brooklyn and Staten Island face lift patients may also benefit from dermal fillers, including Restylane®, JUVÉDERM® and RADIESSE®. Dr. Cutolo uses these non-surgical products to enhance facial volume and reduce frown lines, crow's feet, fine lines, wrinkles and folds. Results can provide remarkable enhancement, but a face lift produces a more comprehensive, longer-term solution.

Before & After

This 64-year-old woman opted to have Dr. Cutolo perform fat transfer combined with eyelid surgery to rejuvenate her appearance. A laser skin resurfacing treatment on the area around the mouth was performed in a separate appointment. View more before-and-after photos in our photo gallery.

Are the results of face lift surgery permanent?

While a face lift cannot stop the aging process, it can improve your appearance for life. For example, if you have a face lift at 50, you will still look younger at 60 than you would have if you didn't have a face lift. In that sense, the effects are permanent.

Can I have another face lift if I have already had a face lift?

Yes, you can have a secondary face lift. Dr. Cutolo will have to evaluate you and your initial surgery to determine if you are a candidate for another face lift and to establish a treatment plan.

What if I'm mostly concerned about my neck and jawline?

Dr. Cutolo will use his proprietary Rejuvelift™ procedure to create a defined jawline and firm, youthful neck contour.

What does a facelift cost?

The cost of a facelift depends on several factors, including the extent of the procedure, the experience and training of the plastic surgeon, and the geographic area where the practice is located. Rejuvelift, developed by Dr. Cutolo, generally costs less than a traditional facelift because it's performed using local anesthesia instead of general anesthesia. The procedure itself is also shorter.

Cost is a factor for most patients, of course, but it's more important to choose a qualified, board-certified plastic surgeon than to opt for the lowest cost for a procedure.

What is VECTRA?

VECTRA 3-D imaging enables patients to see a realistic preview of the potential results of their facelift procedures. It is very popular with our patients.

Will people notice my facelift scars?

Dr. Cutolo makes facelift incisions in the natural creases around the ears and in the hairline, so that they are barely visible once they heal. Rejuvelift incisions are even smaller than those used for traditional facelifts. Incisions remain well-hidden even for patients who wear their hair short.
